In April of 201l, I completed a two-year project of sculptured hands.
This show was born because of a life experience like no other for me.  A
hospital overdose of a drug caused major tremors in my hands, keeping me from
doing my work as an artist complete.  In June of 2009, after 6 months of terror,
with the help of a neurologist at UVA, my hands returned.  I felt called to then
create a series of hands (3-dimensional and based on my own hands)
showing hands either in simple repose, or doing those things I could not
do while my hands were shaking:  holding a pencil, typing on a keyboard,
holding a cup, etc.   Thirty five pieces in tall.

These pieces are currently for sale for installation only -- that is, the set of hands
cannot be broken into individual purchases, because of the nature of the story and the pieces.
A small book has been published to go with this show:  REDISCOVERY OF AN ARTIST
THROUGH HER HANDS, currently for sale.

The first row shows hands before firing and finishing.  The second row showing some of the completed hands.
